Support Student Research at the Cutting Edge

Cutting-edge scientific research and technology development, led collaboratively between faculty and students, is a hallmark of Western Washington University's STEM programs. Western students lead research projects, publish in prestigious journals, present their research by giving talks at national and international conferences, and win international student competitions.

Donations to the Student Research Fund allow us to increase the impact of grant- and foundation-funded research. Each year, over $100,000 is gifted to CSE in support of student research - this year alone, 15 students are able continue their education and gain lab experience over the summer thanks to donors like you!

Dean's Fund

Gifts to the Dean’s Fund enable us to respond to emergent needs and opportunities in support of students and faculty across the College of Science and Engineering. The Dean’s Fund supports student travel and student- and faculty-led initiatives, enables us to acquire advanced research equipment, and bolsters the development of new academic programs and community partnerships.

Last year, a portion of the Dean’s Fund helped four students to attend the annual SACNAS conference in Phoenix, Arizona, the largest multidisciplinary and multicultural STEM diversity conference in the country.
