We are still counting! Give now!

Why give to the College of the Environment?

The College of the Environment addresses today’s environmental issues and readies tomorrow’s interdisciplinary problem solvers. We prepare students for creative, fulfilling careers in a changing world through educational programs, faculty-student collaboration, applied research, and professional and community service. Since its establishment in 1969, the College of the Environment has won national and international recognition as a premier institution with undergraduate and graduate programs that continually evolve to enhance practical, collaborative approaches to finding environmental solutions. Our distinctive curriculum grants degrees from the Department of Environmental Sciences (B.S., M.S.), Department of Environmental Studies (B.A., B.A.E., M.A.), and the Department of Urban and Environmental Planning & Policy (B.A., M.A.).

Our Goal: Access

Our goal this year is to raise $20,000 for college-level scholarships that support first-generation students and those experiencing significant financial need. Across higher education, we are seeing a rise in the number of talented students who cite concerns about debt burden as a reason for forgoing college. For many who do enroll, food and housing insecurity make it a challenge to focus on their work.

At the College of the Environment, we are convinced that our role in finding environmental solutions demands ensuring educational access and support for all students. This is why we have made need-based admission and retention scholarships our #1 fundraising goal.

Impact

Your investment in College of the Environment scholarships will make an environmental degree possible for talented students who otherwise cannot see college as part of their future. We need their voices and leadership now and in the decades ahead.

The College of the Environment invites you to give at whatever level you can. Every gift helps.

Make your gift today as part of WWU Give Day and support the next generation of environmental leaders. Thank you for partnering with us to create opportunities for our students!
