Support Student Research at the Cutting Edge

Cutting-edge scientific research and technology development, led collaboratively between faculty and students, is a hallmark of Western Washington University's STEM programs. Each year, Western students patent new inventions, publish in prestigious journals, present their research by giving talks at national and international conferences, and win international student competitions.

Donations to the Student Research Fund allow us to increase the impact of grant- and foundation-funded research. Each year, over $100,000 is gifted to CSE in support of student research - this year alone, 20 students are able continue their education and gain lab experience over the summer thanks to donors like you!

This year, donations to CSE student research will be matched up to $7,500!

Dean's Fund

Gifts to the Dean’s Fund enable us to respond to emergent needs and opportunities in support of students and faculty across the College of Science and Engineering. The Dean’s Fund supports student travel and student- and faculty-led initiatives, enables us to acquire advanced research equipment, and bolsters the development of new academic programs and community partnerships.

Student and Faculty Ambassador Program

There is a need for effective communication among CSE students, staff, faculty, and administration. Additionally, the culture and community experienced by students can be unique to each department. With this in mind, the CSE Ambassador program was developed to work toward the common goal of improved communication, increased student involvement, and increased student success, especially as it relates to accessibility, diversity, equity, and inclusion (ADEI).

The CSE ambassador program empowers students and faculty to act as liaisons between students, faculty, department leadership and the Dean and Associate Dean. The program seeks to cultivate diverse leadership, empower students to explore and speak freely on issues affecting climate and culture, and ensure students collaborate with staff, faculty and CSE leadership in decision-making processes.

Your gift will help support our students, NTT faculty and ambassador events focused on cultivating an inclusive community within CSE.
