We are the Department of Environmental Studies at Western Washington University, a department of 11 faculty, 2 senior instructors, and over 200 students. With courses in environmental policy, climate change, natural hazards, geographic information systems, and education happening each quarter, we are buzzing with learning both in the classroom and out in the community.
Our aim is to engage meaningfully, collaboratively and respectfully with diverse communities in pursuit of a more just and sustainable world. Please donate to our programs to support students gaining the knowledge and skills needed to manage complex and interwoven socio-environmental systems and find creative and justice solutions to our most pressing environmental challenges.
Your donations will support us is reducing student course fees for experiential, field, and community-based courses. Currently, students pay course fees that can range from $10 to over $100 to cover transportation, equipment, entrance fees, and similar items so students can learn and practice their skills in real world settings.
We want to make sure that course fees are never a barrier for students who want to take these courses. All students should have access to these transformative learning experiences. Your gift can help us reach this goal.
