Hello and thank you for visiting our Give Day page. We are a collection of students who meet weekly to discuss our interest in the empirical study and application of modern psychology. Our club offers students a way to connect with others who are either currently psychology majors, plan on applying, or just want to come and see what the subject is all about through meetings or our active Discord channel. On top of a mutually supportive environment, we also provide members with information about volunteer opportunities (for both individuals and to work as a club), community donation drives, grad school, career paths, and departmental events. We also reach out to professionals and experts in working in the field to present at guest speakers during our meetings which is always an informative and interesting time.
Covid has demonstrably put a damper on all of our activities, and psychology club is no exception, but in the past academic year we have been able to return to working with the community to provide volunteer services and community outreach. As more things return to in person there are also more opportunities to participate in and visit conferences in the future. Given the right opportunities and funding our club would be able to organize more local club events, group trips to engage with the clinical and academic psychology community outside of Bellingham, or even engage in volunteer opportunities abroad such as MEDLIFE.
