Disability Studies Steering Committee (DSSC)

The Disability Studies Steering Committee (DSSC) is a coalition of disabled students, staff, and faculty working with non-disabled allies to establish a Disability Studies Institute at Western Washington University.

Your gift will support the DSSC's efforts to:

  • build and sustain a coalition of people committed to implementing the principles of Disability Justice at Western;
  • create an interdisciplinary minor in Critical Disability Studies;
  • draw on the knowledge and expertise of disabled people to advance Western's educational and ADEI missions;
  • expand Western's disability-related scholarships and resources;
  • develop disability-related programming such as symposia, roundtables, and workshops; and
  • foster partnerships at the local, regional, national, and global levels in order to advance Disability Justice.
