Hi Viking Volleyball Friends and Family!
I sincerely hope that you are happy, healthy, and excited for the upcoming 2022 fall season! While 2020 was certainly a year to be forgotten, 2021 was quite the turnaround and a year to truly celebrate!
After all the stops and starts of training; after all the dark clouds of Covid looming overhead; after all the uncertainly of what the future would hold, your Viking Volleyball team had a banner year...literally 3 banners! Soon to be hanging in Carver Gym will be an 11th GNAC Conference Title (4th year in a row which is unprecedented), a 4th West Region Championship, and a Final Four banner to add to the longstanding history of WWU Volleyball. This group of young women took bunches and bunches of lemons and made the finest of lemonades, and guess what? They all return!
Yes, your Final Four Vikings will all be back for the 2022 campaign and are looking to see if they can get to the next level of the National Championships to be held in Seattle, WA this upcoming fall! That is what we sacrifice for every day...a chance to bring it home to Bellingham.
But make no mistake, we know that all our success in 2021 happened as we stood on the shoulders of not only those who came before us, but those who continued to show their support during a trying time for us all. We could not have achieved all that we did without our Viking Family!
So, we come to you on this Give Day to ask for your support in two different ways:
- Please join us this fall in Carver Gym to watch your Viking Volleyball team in action starting with our home tournament August 25-27 and continuing through the GNAC schedule.
- If you feel so inclined, please donate to our program so we can maintain the level of excellence on the court and in the student-athlete experience that has been a staple at WWU.
It is you – our family, friends, alumni, and supporters – who make this opportunity different, unique, and memorable. Thank you for always being there for our student-athletes and our program! We appreciate you more than words can say.
