About

The Department of Philosophy offers a variety of courses in traditional areas of philosophical study, including ethics, epistemology, logic, metaphysics, and the history of philosophy. Through a collaborative study of these topics, our faculty helps students develop skills that we value as a department, such as active reading, critical thinking, analytic writing, and effective speaking.

Impact

Your gift this year will be matched 1-to-1, doubling our capability to fund scholarships for students majoring in philosophy. Because of donors like you, the Department of Philosophy is able to award the following three scholarships each year to outstanding philosophy majors:

• Downing-Montague Scholarship for Philosophy and Healthcare and Technology ($1,500)
• Paul J. and Rebecca Ann Olscamp Philosophy Scholarship ($1,000)
• Philosophy Tuition Waiver Scholarship ($1,800)
