Dear WWU MBA Family:
Happy Give Day 2022! Every day I see firsthand the extraordinary commitment that our faculty, staff and, especially students have to improving Western Washington University’s College of Business and Economics MBA program. This has been a time of incredible transition. I taught the Weekend and Evening MBA cohorts over Zoom, and then started this quarter with the Daytime cohort in-person, wearing a mask. As the academic year ends, we are now mask-optional, and I feel like we are finally able to deliver the excellent MBA education we are committed to doing in the manner we expect.
As you know ours is a student-focused program so the funds we raise on Give Day go directly to student scholarships. Please help them with your support of MBA Scholarships this year. To illustrate my commitment to our students, I will be personally matching the first $1,000 donated to the MBA Program on Give Day.
Reflecting on everything over the last 2 or so years, I have learned quite a bit. While case discussions are better in person than over Zoom, the ability to connect people from large distances is incredibly powerful. We will start a regular WWU MBA learning series where students, and alumni can mingle and discuss topics around business, work, careers, or anything. Please let me know what topics you would like to discuss and if you'd be willing to participate.
We are proud of our program and proud of you. Please keep in touch!
With extreme appreciation,
Mark G. Staton, PhD
