Happy Give Day 2024!

Western's judo club has been around since the 80s, and we're still going strong with regular practices typically consisting of 10-20 people. We are an inclusive club open for all to join, regardless of skill level or background. A great place to begin learning!

This summer, an enthusiastic group of WWU Judo students are traveling to Japan to study judo where it began- at the Kodokan! The dojo in Tokyo where judo was first established by Jigoro Kano in 1882.

Our group will stay in dorms at the Kodokan for the entire month of August, learning and training judo nearly every day. This truly unique experience will be steeped in the history and teachings of judo technique and philosophy. While the accommodations are modest, the bunk-room dorms within this storied building help us save money and offer the chance to develop friendships with like-minded athletes from Japan and around the world. Staying in the heart of Tokyo, our group will also have the opportunity to explore the amazing city that holds so much to experience.

Your gift is greatly appreciated in helping us reach our goals. Your generosity will directly help with flights, housing, food, and local transportation costs.

Thank you so very much for donating to our club, or sharing our page. We look forward to a fantastic and unforgettable August in Japan.
