Western on the Peninsulas Scholarship Fund
Western Washington University on the Peninsulas is growing and our students need your support.
The mission of Western on the Peninsulas is to empower individuals and communities across the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas through accessible, high-quality higher education. Through innovative programs and partnerships with Olympic College and Peninsula College, we are dedicated to providing diverse pathways to academic excellence and career success. By aligning our curriculum with the evolving needs of the region and prioritizing engagement with local industries, we aim to foster a culture of lifelong learning and economic vitality. With a commitment to equity, inclusivity, and community collaboration, we strive to cultivate leaders who will positively impact the social, cultural, and economic landscape of the Peninsulas and beyond.
Coming to Western through a variety of pathways, our students are your neighbors and colleagues, earning associate degrees from partner institutions like Olympic College and Peninsula College. Their lives are here, and they have chosen to stay on the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas as part of their dream.
Our Western on the Peninsulas Scholarship will help all students offset the costs of earning a bachelor’s degree. Your support can help ensure that low-income, first-generation, place-bound, non-traditional students have access to high-quality affordable education.
Our students:
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to support the costs of tuition and fees for students on the Peninsulas during an academic year, support hands on learning through a new paid internship program at SEA Discovery Center and provide more opportunities for enhanced learning across all of our Peninsulas programs. As an alum or friend of Western you know that being able to attend the school where you live makes a huge difference in accessing quality higher education.
"Being able to continue my education through Western on the Peninsulas gave me a second chance that I otherwise would not have thought was possible. Had it not been for knowing that Western has a program that was local to the Poulsbo area, I would have had to face the tough decision of putting my education on hold. Having closer and personal relationships with the faculty and the instructors has helped me get the support I needed as a student. Meeting other students who are getting their degrees and getting to know each of them through classes we have together has truly built a sense of community that I am happy to experience and have missed having after the pandemic. " - Emmalyne, Business Administration major and Cybersecurity Certificate student
Your donations will help our students continue to Learn Where They Live.
