Inspiring the Next Generation of Salish Sea Stewards!
WWU's free public aquarium, SEA Discovery Center is located in Poulsbo, WA and is visited by 25,000+ visitors annually and 800+ local school kids. As a self-sustaining entity of WWU, relies on donor support to help us connect people with the amazing world of the Salish Sea. For 60 years, we’ve brought visitors and students closer to the animals, habitats, people, and cultures that make this region unique.
Our free Field Trip program is funded each year through grants and community support—including WWU Give Day donors —and is designed to inspire the next generation of marine stewards. Students enjoy a 2‑hour adventure that includes classroom learning, aquarium time, our Floating Lab, a visit to the Suquamish Tribe’s shellfish farm, and an introduction to the endangered Pinto Abalone and our new giant Pacific octopus habitat!
We’re committed to creating a better climate future—we’d love for you to be part of this journey with us!
