WWU Give Day 2026

The Viking Track and Field team is making history in the GNAC conference, marking an extraordinary achievement that no team has ever matched—an impressive nine-straight victory streak across men’s and women’s cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track. This incredible run has set a new standard for excellence in the conference and on the national stage.

As we reflect on the year so far, we’re thrilled to celebrate some of the remarkable accomplishments our team has achieved. In cross country, the Viking men and women won the GNAC Championships for the 4th straight year. At the NCAA national XC championships the women finished 18^th and the men finished 9^th in the country, the second-best finish from a WWU men's XC team ever. This success continued with another dominant performance at the GNAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, where both the men’s and women’s teams took home 1st place for the 3rd year in a row. 

In addition, we sent seven athletes to Indoor Track and Field Nationals, where five athletes earned All-American honors in the Women's 4x400m relay (7th), Women’s 400m (8th), and Women's 800m (5th). Our athletes also set 102 new entries on the indoor all-time list and 19 School Records! With 2 outdoor meets we have 26 top 10 marks and 1 school record already looking to be a great outdoor season!

None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of our community. 

Thanks to your generosity last fall, we were able to provide the best opportunities for our student-athletes to continue striving for greatness, bringing them to California, Nevada and Oregon for optimal competitions in warm weather and renowned stadiums. Donations during our current Give Day fundraiser will help to meet our team’s staffing needs, fairly compensating the coaches who contribute so much to our athletes’ development and success as athletes and individuals.
