Thank you for taking the time to visit our Give Day page and for considering giving to our program. Our reality is that we are need of programatic funding to sustain the excellence that we strive for in all the areas of a student-athletes' life: athletic training, academic support, community engagement, giving back to our sport, and being great representative of WWU. While many see the goal of Viking Volleyball to be the wins on the court (and we like that part too!), we see it as an educational vehicle to advance young women to adulthood where they can have a lasting impact in whatever chosen field they decide to go into. We teach and instill the values of gratitude and paying it forward with the understanding that it takes a village to support each student-athlete to dream, struggle, grow and achieve! Therefore, a donation to Viking volleyball is like throwing a stone into a pond. While the initial placement seems to affect those closest to it the most, the ripple effects extend far and wide during their time at WWU and beyond.
This funding campaign isn't about the bells and whistles that are happening in college athletics right now. It is about maintaining the basics like traveling in our 5 state wide conference, keeping up with technology and equipment, employing the staff required to keep all this running, and quite frankly, holding onto the infrastructure of developing servant leaders in a ever changing world that is now "every person for themselves."
We can thank you enough for supporting us in the pursuit of values we hold dear! Again, it takes a village and we are thankful that you are a part of ours.
We hope to see you at our matches this upcoming fall! Go Viks!
