Each year for decades, the Associated Students has offered Scholarships to support Western Students in their academic endeavors. Recently the AS lost a critical funding source which supported these scholarships. This is your chance to help and make your donation have an impact for years to come by donating to the AS Scholarship Endowment.
Your donation will help fund one $1,000 scholarship in the following areas (total of $5,000 per year):
Academic Scholar Award- outstanding academic merit and achievement at WWU
Campus Activities Scholarship- outstanding leadership and contributions to WWU through campus activities.
Childcare Scholarship- financial assistance for childcare to allow a student-parent in need to be a successful and engaged student.
Community Involvement Scholarship- for commitment to improving the lives of Western students through their work in the community.
Diversity Award Scholarship- for significant efforts to promote activism, awareness, and enthusiasm for diversity issues in a way that helps improve the campus climate.
Do you remember the Big Blue Bonus Book? The AS coupon book was the source of many a discount, a laugh, and was how many people found out about local businesses. For years this coupon book provided the scholarships with $10,000 in revenue per year that was given directly to the students who were selected for scholarships. Paper coupons are no longer in demand and that agreement has ended.
Your donation would help increase our endowment which would allow for a yearly disbursement to fund these important scholarships. Please help us by donating to the AS Scholarship Endowment, to ensure a secure funding source for years to come.
