Western on the Peninsulas Scholarship Fund
The mission of Western on the Peninsulas is to empower individuals and communities across the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas through accessible, high-quality higher education. Through innovative programs and partnerships with Olympic College and Peninsula College, we are dedicated to providing diverse pathways to academic excellence and career success. By aligning our curriculum with the evolving needs of the region and prioritizing engagement with local industries, we aim to foster a culture of lifelong learning and economic vitality. With a commitment to equity, inclusivity, and community collaboration, we strive to cultivate leaders who will positively impact the social, cultural, and economic landscape of the Peninsulas and beyond.
Our students are our highest priority and to assist them in achieving their goals, we are seeking support for a new scholarship. This scholarship will support the unique needs of students on the Peninsulas be they in Poulsbo, Bremerton or Port Angeles. Funds raised will be awarded to local students and allow them to continue their enrollment at Western. Our goal is to reduce barriers to earning a 4-year degree for all students at Western.
Our Mission:
Providing access to Western’s degree programs to communities in need of higher education resources.
Peninsulas-based programs support students from groups that higher education has historically not served well: low-income, first-generation, place-bound, non-traditional students. Our students are your neighbors and colleagues. They come to Western with degrees from our partner institutions like Olympic College and Peninsula College. They live and work here, serve their country, participate in their communities and build their lives around this place. Financial barriers can prevent students from continuing their education – and from completing their degrees.
Our Goal:
With a new scholarship, we will be able to support incoming and current students and help them enter and complete their bachelor’s degree program. With your financial support, Western on the Peninsulas can help improve access to higher education in this region – and within your community.
Impact:
Your donations will help our students continue to Learn Where They Live.

"Being able to continue my education through Western on the Peninsulas gave me a second chance that I otherwise would not have thought was possible. Had it not been for knowing that Western has a program that was local to the Poulsbo area, I would have had to face the tough decision of putting my education on hold. Having closer and personal relationships with the faculty and the instructors has helped me get the support that I needed as a student. Meeting other students who are getting their degrees and getting to know each of them through classes we have together has truly built a sense of community that I am happy to experience and have missed having after the pandemic." - Emmalyne, Business Administration major and Cybersecurity Certificate student
