Dear Friends of the Salish Sea Institute,
We appreciate your efforts to support and sustain our work! On this GIVE DAY, we are specifically aiming to support students in the Salish Sea Studies program.
Our goal this year is to raise $10,000. This will allow us to bring powerful, noteworthy speakers to campus to enrich our curricula for both students and community members.
Salish Sea Studies continues to grow!
We are seeing enormous interest in the new Salish Sea Studies minor – enrollment in the minor is now over 40 students. Also this quarter, our SALI 201 Class, Introduction to the Salish Sea, filled early in registration with over 25 students on the waitlist showing a lot of interest for the class and program. |
Guest speaker helps counter climate doomism
In March, we brought Elin Kelsey to share about Evidence-Based Hope to counter climate doomism. Elin spoke to a WWU climate change class, had lunch with a small group of students and did a community webinar. |
Emerging Issues in the Salish Sea
We continue to provide publications and hold events to promote the protection of the Salish Sea. Our Emerging Issues Series now has four volumes with more to come! Check them out here! |
