Welcome to the Department of Psychology Give Day Page!
Your donations can go even farther with these amazing matching opportunities!
2x Matching Opportunity for the Merle Prim Scholarship for Diversity and Inclusion
This year, a special 2 for 1 match for this scholarship will result in your donation having an even greater impact thanks to generous anonymous donors who are Western alumni and former students of Professor Merle Prim! Our goal is to grow the endowment to increase the scholarship offering. Our goal is to grow the endowment to increase scholarship offering. The Merle Prim Scholarship for Diversity and Inclusion is available to students who are Psychology or Behavioral Neuroscience majors and have financial need.
Here’s how it works: Every $1 you give will be increased by a factor of two! For example, your $100 donation will receive $200 in 2X matching funds, resulting in a total donation of $300! Please join us in showing appreciation for these anonymous donors by giving your donation today and helping us achieve the goal of the $10,000 Merle Prim Scholarship matching funds challenge!
2x Matching Opportunity for Student Research
foundry10 will match donations 2:1 (up to $10,000) to the student research fund.

The Department of Psychology staff and faculty established a special matching fund that will make your donation go farther!
Here's how it works: Once 35 donations are received to any psychology scholarship or fund on Give Day, then $1,000 in matching funds contributed by the Psychology staff and faculty will be unlocked. Once the threshold of 35 donations has been met, all additional donations are eligible for a match from WWU (percentage to be determined by WWU after Give Day)!
These matching funds will support student research and conference presentations. Student participation in research activities and attendance at professional academic conferences is vital as they learn about and make contributions to the field, and for when applying for employment and graduate school.
In 2023-2024, Give Day donations to the Psychology Department allowed more than 25 students to present their research at regional, national, and international conferences and network with professionals in the field! More than $10,000 of Give Day donations supported student conference travel and advanced their professional development and career outlook! Thank you!
