Our Goal
Help us reach our goal to raise $6,000 during Student Success Center’s very first Give Day campaign. Through the generous donations of Scott Young, Wing Fok and Paul Merriman, the first $3,000 will be matched with our “Deans and Friends” fund – that means your gift amount makes double the impact.
Why the Student Success Center Matters
Founded in 2021, The Student Success Center is a space in Parks Hall that is dedicated to belonging, connection, wellbeing and support for CBE students. It is a space where students gather for community and assistance locating relevant resources at WWU and in the CBE to enhance the student experience. In the words of our students:
COMMUNITY “As a veteran living off campus, I sometimes feel disconnected from the university community. The resources offered by the student success center draw a diverse group of users and facilitate the development of a cohort among the CBE students that is otherwise lacking. While taking advantage of the comfortable space to study, I have finally begun to form a network both within my major and across the college." -Erin Shelley-Moody, Major: ACCT
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT "[The SSC is a] thriving eco system for interdisciplinary conversations and ideas to be exchanged within our business school. The Moss-Adams Success Center has become a key aspect to student life in the CBE, and a remains an ongoing support network for students in their daily lives in Parks Hall. With expansion of the miracle food network and of professional development resources, and center for community building is vital to the undergraduate/graduate experience." -Sarah Allen, Student Advocate; Major: Finance
BELONGING & INCLUSION "My experience as a CBE student has been radically improved with the development of the Student Success Center. The SSC has connected me to my peers in meaningful ways, like at a reception to celebrate new artwork in the building or an event to meet the Deans. The SSC is an integral part of the CBE student experience - it is a place to be productive, ask for advice, and find resources. I gravitate towards this space because I know I am welcomed and supported there." -Kaitlin Losansky, Student Advocate; Major: MGMT & Theater Arts
What Your Support Will Do for Students
Funds raised on Give Day will directly impact students in their experience at CBE and successful entry into their professional careers. Our top priorities include supporting programming for events, creating a comfortable and resource-filled space for students, developing a podcast and providing stipends to Student Advocates.
For example:
$30 supports a week’s worth food pantry items for a student experiencing food insecurity
$50 funds a podcast episode
$200 provides professional headshots for ten+ students
$1000 provides a stipend for a Student Advocate
