SEA Discovery Center, WWU's community aquarium, is located far away from Bellingham. Sited on the on the shores of Liberty Bay in Poulsbo, WA, SEA is the marine science resource for the surrounding community, WWU on the Peninsula students, local elementary school students, and tourists alike.
As a self-supporting entity of Western Washington University, SEA is responsible for raising funds to support its operations and outreach. SEA relies on individual, foundation and corporate donations to operate the FREE public aquarium and provide educational programming.
Since re-opening in May 2022, 18,650+ visitors and 600+ students from Kitsap Schools have experienced hands-on learning featuring marine life from the Pacific Northwest. We believe that education changes everything. Your support will help to offset the operational costs associated with operating the public aquarium and with providing formal and informal education to visitors, public school students and WWU students. Your philanthropic investment will ensure the next generation of environmental stewards. Thank you in advance for your support!
