Viking Friends & Family,
Thank you for taking the time to visit our Give Day page and for considering giving to our program. Following the graduation of 8 seniors, we have been working diligently to bring our young squad up to speed and continue the tradition of great people playing great volleyball and having a great impact which is the staple of WWU Volleyball.
We have spent a lot of time reinventing ourselves and defining who we want to be, and the theme for this year is simply put…LIMITLESS! We want to free ourselves of self-imposed boundaries and work every day to be better than the day before…small, incremental steps that add up to big things. With this mindset, we keep pushing the boundaries of limitations further and further away! Now, of course, we must temper this with reality! I can’t make a 5’2” person stand tall at 6’2”! However, that 5’2” person can play as big as the 6’2” person can…why not?
So why the heck does that relate to our Give Day? Well, the reality is that while the global pandemic effects are still hitting us, the funding to compensate for it is no longer. As a result, the university is requiring a 3% cut across the board. Those are our realistic lemons we must deal with, but our philosophy is to make the best dang lemonade out of it!
To do so, it will take all our efforts and we are asking for you to join us in our pursuit to keep WWU Volleyball at the level we have been so grateful for. We need your assistance so we can continue to compete against the best, train at our best, be our best in the community, and be the limitless role models and mentors that we can be.
The fact is, we are dealing with a 5’2” pocketbook, but we are going to make the experiences for the student-athletes and our community feel like a 6’2” smash straight down! Please join us on this journey and if you so choose, please consider a donation to the cause…that too is limitless! ????
Our schedule for 2023 is posted (https://wwuvikings.com/sports/womens-volleyball/schedule)! We hope to see you rocking the stands in Carver Gym!
Go Vikings!
