Figure Skating

WWU Figure Skating is an entirely student-led team of dedicated competitive and recreational figure skaters.  We are excited to provide the opportunity of collegiate skating to students at Western Washington University, as well as to the Pacific Northwest in its entirety. We have recreational and competitive teams that learn from, support, and guide one another throughout our competitive and performance seasons. The competitive team travels out-of-state to represent WWU against other schools from the Pacific Section. Our team is non-tryout and open to all skill levels, including beginner skaters and former competitive skaters looking to continue figure skating in college.

Our club is ever-expanding, and we have many goals for our team within the coming years. We hope to expand our presence within the WWU AS community and WWU Athletics. Our previous competition season had many ups and downs, but our skaters persevered and skated exceptionally in their events, even taking home a first-place trophy for the team at our last competition. Our goal is to strengthen our competitive team and provide competitive opportunities for new members who are interested in trying their hands at intercollegiate figure skating. Not only this, but we have many talented skaters who are able to showcase their abilities in recitals, hosted by the team right here in Bellingham! As with any sport, practice makes progress, and we'd love to be able to provide our skaters with frequent and beneficial ice time where they may hone their skills on the ice.

Our team relies on donors like you to help provide ice time for our skaters, attend competitions, host skate nights, and put on recitals. We are a non-tryout team focused on inclusivity and comradery. We believe that skating should be accessible to everyone regardless of level. Thoughtful contributions from our supporters are a major part of what keeps WWU Figure Skating running successfully. Our team is ever-expanding, and your generosity will not be overlooked. Going forward, we hope to use these donations to further engage with ourselves, the intercollegiate figure skating world, and the WWU community.
