We are immersing students in marine and coastal science

Investing in MACS students

The WWU Marine and Coastal Science (MACS) program is now in its fourth year and going strong. We have graduated our first cohort of outstanding students and just welcomed a brand-new group of enthusiastic, budding marine scientists. Check out the video above to learn about the MACS experience of Amirah Casey, a recent program alumna now pursuing graduate education at the University of Washington.

If you would like to help a next-generation marine scientists along their career path, please consider supporting the MACS program through a Give Day 2024 donation. Your gift will make a difference.

$10: Air stones for an ocean acidification experiment

$25: A pair of rubber boots for field work

$50: Four nutrient analyses for students studying water quality in the Salish Sea

$150: Fund a half-day boat trip for an entire MACS class

$350: Sponsor a student in their initial MACS 1-week experience at the marine center

$1,500: Send a student to present original research at a science conference

100% of all donations directly support MACS students.

An anonymous donor has agreed to match all MACS Give Day donations up to the first $5,000, so your donation today has double value for our students. Thank you for your generous support of promising students who will become tomorrow's marine science leaders.
