Give Day Challenge for
AMSEC - Materials Science!
Gifts made as part of WWU Give Day will be matched dollar for dollar by generous faculty and staff! Once those funds run out, a percentage of every gift made will be matched by the WWU Give Day Challenge Pool. Thank you in advance for your gift in support of our talented materials science students.
AMSEC advances materials science education and research across multiple disciplines at WWU. Students studying Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Geology, Mathematics, and Physics can take the opportunity to conduct direct, hands-on research with faculty mentors who lead materials science research in the Pacific Northwest.
In addition to research lab experience, students receive co-author recognition when their participation in a faculty research group project results in a paper being published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. You can find examples of publications on AMSEC faculty member Dr. Amanda Murphy's publication webpage.
The Materials Science Student Club is accredited as an official community chapter of e-Nable -- a global network of volunteers who create free 3D printed prosthetic hands for those in need. These prosthetics take a substantial amount of club member time, skill, and dedication as described in this Klipsun story.
AMSEC is a student-focused program, and your donation can make a difference:
AMSEC appreciates your generous donation and will continue to create a collaborative environment for students engaged in materials science education and research.
