Ensuring Economic Success:
SBDCs offer one-on-one, confidential advanced business counseling and low or no-cost training programs on topics including business planning, accessing capital, marketing, technology development, international trade and much more. SBDCs help entrepreneurs realize the dream of business ownership and give existing business owners a competitive edge in a complex and ever-changing global marketplace.
SBDCs are hosted by leading universities, colleges and state economic development agencies and are funded in part by the U.S. Congress through a partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Investing in Opportunity:
Western Washington University is seeking economic development partnerships to bring the SBDC’s multifaceted business development program to the Kitsap County small business community. Businesses in communities with SBDC resources create jobs, invest in their local economies and grow sales at a higher rate than the national average. The strong partnership with WWU will also offer area businesses the opportunity to access faculty expertise and connect with students via hands-on educational and applied learning opportunities.
The WWU Advantage:
Western hosts the largest SBDC program in the state of Washington with four certified business advisors. Located in Whatcom County since 1983, the program has leveraged local economic development investments to their maximum potential by helping thousands of local companies start and grow successfully.
