Greetings friends,
Thanks for visiting the Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry page. There is so much to thank for you for in these unusual times. We've appreciated those who have reached out to let us know how you are doing, to share jobs announcements, and have donated your time to our students. We suspended our annual crowdfunder given the great uncertainty we are all faced with, but wanted to reach out through GiveDay to those who could support our students.
The support you've given in the past has truly made a difference. Students are receiving research opportunities and attending conferences (the research done by students highlighted in the microplastics video was supported with funds from donors). These are the experiences that set them up for professional success and we are proud to be part of this. We hope to be able to continue this support, which may be more important than ever in helping our students stand out as they enter the workforce.
There is good news in our program. Last January, Dr. Manuel Montaño joined our faculty. He is an analytical chemist and is already mentoring several undergraduate students on senior theses. We are fortunate to have him working to enhance our students' knowledge and experiences.
A thousand thanks,
Ruth, Wayne, and our new chemist (!) Manuel
