Merle Prim Scholarship for Diversity & Inclusion

The Prim scholarship is available to ethnic minority students who are Psychology or Behavioral Neuroscience majors and have a demonstrated financial need. Currently the scholarship awards a tuition gift of $1000 per year. We hope to grow the endowment to award a full tuition gift of $8000 per year.

Department of Psychology - Student Research & Travel Support

Donations to the Department of Psychology will be used to support student research and travel to present research at professional conferences.

Psychology holds active student participation in research as one of its central values. This is a point of pride for our department. Last year, 38 students were co-authors of peer-reviewed journal articles and 71 were co-authors of presentations at a wide variety of regional, national, and international professional conferences. Conferences give students the opportunity to demonstrate their expertise and to see, first-hand, the impact that their work has on the larger scientific community.

Your contributions to the Department of Psychology will allow us to continue providing financial support to students conducting research and presenting their research at professional conferences.

These donations allow for opportunities that students, especially those who come from low-income backgrounds, may not otherwise have during their college career. Thank you for allowing me and my colleagues to travel to San Diego for the most recent 2018 Society for Neuroscience conference; it was unforgettable experience!" -- Derek J. MacDougall

Attending the Western Association for Counselor Education and Supervision 2018 Conference was a very gratifying experience. ... I networked with other universities and attended seminars, job talks, and engaging discussions, all of which help me feel better prepared for my future career. I am so thankful for the opportunity to attend and present at the WACES 2018 conference and it will be one of my most memorable experiences while attending WWU". -- Olivia Dorn
