Help Support the Accounting Department Today!  

Join and support the Western Washington University’s Accounting Department. This year most proceeds will go to the critical learning needs of our students and for scholarships to help students with tuition, fees, and housing both immediately and into the next year. Additionally, we are looking for continued support to increase analytical and writing skills within our Accounting classes.   

• Scholarship Funding for Students with Critical Needs - Many of our students self-fund their education with internships, and part-time jobs. Due to the virus, many of those jobs have been either reduced or eliminated. Please consider enabling our great students to continue their education.  

• Support for Beta Alpha Psi and All Student Competitions - The ability to attend regional, national, and international conferences and case competitions, and to polish presentation and networking skills is so valuable. Our student leaders have shown resilience during the shutdown by holding weekly virtual meetings with cutting edge speakers and by gathering virtually for our Spring Banquet. Trials show true character and our students have demonstrated their innovative positive spirit and commitment to each other and to the wider community. 

• Skill Enhancement in the Accounting Program: Writing and Communications – Our alumni spoke, and we listened. During the school year of 2018 we spent a lot of time on the road interviewing our alumni and gathering honest feedback of how to best benefit outgoing graduates. For the last two years, in partnership with the English department, we hired a Teaching Assistant to work with all our faculty and students to enhance and increase our writing abilities. The results were astounding. Students increased their capabilities in research and clarifying writing skills and improved their analytical skills. We can't stop there. With your help, we hope to open the writing support to all CBE students, regardless of major. The impact is too good to keep to ourselves.
