WHAT WE DO!
Western Community Outreach is a club focused on bridging the communication gap between WWU students and Bellingham's homeless and low-income population. We connect with community members through events like our frequent distributions and Be Our Guest, a quarterly event where students are able to use leftover dining meals to guest in community members into the Viking Union Dining Hall for an "all-you-can-eat" buffet. We have found that this club allows many students who have not had the chance before, to interact with members of the homeless community on a personal level that humanizes both parties.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Help support this amazing club centered around service work! 100% of all proceeds we ever receive go directly to supplies for community members. We have no religious or political affiliation but strive to provide an environment where everyone can feel comfortable volunteering, regardless of their beliefs. We bring together students and provide a bi-weekly opportunity to volunteer! Funds will go towards buying food and supplies for the low income population in Bellingham which we bring during our frequent distributions in Downtown Bellingham.
