Dead Parrots Society

We are WWU's improv club and performance group. We host weekly open rehearsals in which all community members and students are invited to explore and try out improvisational theatre! All experience-levels are welcome to our club; our goal is to create a fun, creative, welcoming environment for folks to find and develop community, learn improv performance skills, and destress from classes. DPS holds approximately 8 shows a quarter in a range of styles and formats, with many performers from the Performance Team and the greater Club Ensemble.

The Dead Parrots Society is dedicated to learning and developing our improv skills and communities to the greatest extent possible. It is for this reason that we often travel to other Universities throughout the year to attend festivals and performances. We learn so much from our international improv community (across the PNW and Canada) and bring all of that knowledge back into our own club here at Western.

This broad improv community also allows us to host an annual improv festival DPS Fest, here on Western's campus as well! We bring 5-7 collegiate teams, and several professional teams from across the PNW and Canada, as well as highly recognized and respected improv instructors for 3 days of fantastic performances, workshops, and community building.

We take great pride in all of these fantastic events we are able to participate in and host throughout the year. DPS is a leader in the number of performance and high-level workshop opportunities it provides to its club members annually. We prioritize these opportunities in our club because we care deeply about our members' experiences and learning.

These events and opportunities, however, do cost a good deal of funds. In order to continue providing the immense amount of performance and learning opportunities for our members throughout the year, we ask for your financial support to any extent you are able to. We greatly appreciate your time, consideration, and support.
