The WWU Waterski team is a three event team competing in three-event waterskiing: slalom ,trick and jump. The team competes against other west coast schools as well as on a national level each year. On average, the team has about 15 members and competes in about 7-8 tournaments a year. The WWU Waterski team is the only actively competing tournament waterski team in the state of Washington and seeks to actively keep the sport alive by recruiting new skiers to the sport. The team placed 10th in the Nation at the National Championship and 3rd on the west coast in Fall 2018. The team currently practices on Bow Lake in Bow, Washington and has practiced at Borderline Lake and Lake Samish in the past. Much of the team success is attributed to the help and volunteer coaching of Terry Goodman and his family. The team has many expenses associated with practice and travel which can often make it difficult to afford to practice and compete for the college students who most often pay out of pocket. These expenses included airfare, rental car fees, gas, lake rental, equipment, registration fees and more. The WWU Waterski team also is in need of purchasing a boat in the very near future to continue the team and the sport in Washington State. Any amount helps and is truly appreciated! Sko Viks!
