Please help us celebrate Millie’s retirement from the WWU Math Department with a gift to the Millie Johnson Great Puzzle Hunt Fund. While she may be done teaching, she’s not done running the Puzzle Hunt. Your gift will allow us to ensure The Great Puzzle Hunt continues!
By day, Millie Johnson has been a beloved professor of Mathematics for more than 40 years. She has received awards for excellence in teaching, inspired a love of learning in hundreds of students, and empowered those who didn’t think they would ever be good at math to master the concepts with confidence.
But what makes Millie even more special is that she is a renaissance woman. She is a vocalist (originally trained as an opera singer and is now in three bands!), mother, friend and mentor. She loves the intersection of art and science and believes in having FUN while stretching our mental muscles.
In 2016 Millie Johnson started the Great Puzzle Hunt, a scavenger hunt adventure with puzzles. This event brings students, alumni, kids and community members together in a fun day of bonding powered by both the left and right sides of our brains. The Great Puzzle Hunt brings hundreds of people to campus and has attracted teams from across the nation-shining the spotlight on WWU and our amazing faculty and programs.
Your gift will provide much needed funding for Millie’s labor of love to keep the Great Puzzle Hunt registration costs low so people from all walks of life can participate. Please help us honor Millie with your gift today!
**Matching Funds Available**
