Support Student Initiatives in Material Science at WWU!

The WWU Advanced Materials Science and Engineering Center (AMSEC) supports faculty and student members, in addition to industrial partners, in materials science related education and research. Last year, some of our student members launched the WWU Materials Science Club! In its first quarter, the club held a presentations and panel event where students and faculty in materials science presented their research to students who were interested in learning more about materials science. In its second quarter, the club started a program to fund student-led research grants and selected its first recipients. Some of the funds from last year's Give Day went directly to fund two student research projects at Western!

The club is also planning to participate in a volunteer program where students can become involved in 3D printing and assembling prosthetics for those in need of upper limb assistive devices using the resources and instruments on Western's campus. Your gift will allow this student-led initiative to plan more events, fund more student research, and will support the development of WWU’s young materials scientists and leaders!

Success!
