The WWU Wakeboarding Team is a group of passionate and dedicated individuals that value the gift of coming together and pushing ourselves, along with one another, to be better at the sport we love, wakeboarding.
We are all for the competitive side of things and try to kick butt in competitions, however, it isn't our biggest concern. Our biggest concern is to have fun out on the water by forgetting about the stress of competing, while enjoying the company and motivation of others that are passionate about the same thing. After time, we have realized that this is what has kept our little family close with high morals, no feuds between members, and consistent smiles. With all of the joy afloat it creates a very open space amongst members allowing each other to provide some guidance on how to progress their riding, eventually leading to positive outcomes in competitions as well.
The only problem with wakeboarding is that it's not a cheap sport in the slightest, especially for a college student that's used to their typical Ramen for dinner. There are a lot of expenses varying from our equipment (boards, boots, helmets, lifejackets) to even the things like insurances, leases, gas and maintenance. So what we ask for is anything... every penny/piece of equipment donated to our club will be used in a way that will keep our sport alive in this falling industry for Washington. What you get back is the feeling that you've brought a great deal of happiness to our small community knowing we will survive for another season, as well as a thank you card for our token of appreciation.
