About Us:
Western Washington University’s nationally-recognized Shannon Point Marine Center (SPMC) provides innovative educational programs for undergraduate and graduate students, and supports immersive research opportunities for students and scientists from the university, the region, the nation, and the world. SPMC strives to prepare a diverse community of scientists and leaders, and to enhance scientific literacy.
In order to provide an increased and reliable level of support for Shannon Point’s innovative programs, eight separate funds have been established within the Western Washington University Foundation. These funds provide a variety of opportunities for friends of the marine center and those wishing to support its programs in marine science research and education to do so in a targeted manner.
